West Jefferson, Ohio
Ronald Steven Capehart, known affectionately to many as Steve, was a man of the road, born in Columbus, OH on June 1, 1962. His spirit found its true home within the vast stretches of the American highways. A trucker of 37 years, Ronald's love for the open road was only surpassed by his love for his beloved family and friends. His sense of humor was a beacon, a source of light and laughter that could brighten even the gloomiest day. A loving father, supportive partner, and hilarious friend, Ronald lived his life with a sense of adventure that was contagious to all who met him.
Ronald's career in trucking wasn't just a job, it was a passion and a way of life. His adventurous spirit found joy in the freedom of the open road, taking him to the corners of the country. His journeys, however, always led him back to his residence in West Jefferson, Ohio, the place he called home. It was here that he spent precious time with his family, creating memories that will continue to resonate and bring smiles to their faces. As Mark Twain once said, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
Ronald is survived by his daughters, Tori (Russell) Hess and Christina Capehart, his son Doug Capehart, his loving partner Vickie, his sisters Melissa and Debi (Ed), and his grandchildren Autumn Sawman, Claire Capehart, Jayce Capehart, Karsyn Capehart, and Sterling Sawman. He was preceded in death by his father and his mother, Ruth Capehart. His cherished memories will continue to be celebrated by his loved ones, reminding them of his loving nature, supportive presence, funny anecdotes, and adventurous spirit.
In the words of J.R.R. Tolkien, “The Road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, and I must follow, if I can.” As we remember Ronald, let us embody his adventurous spirit, his love for life, and his unwavering love for his family. Please join us in preserving his memory by sharing your stories, photos, and memories of Ronald on his memorial page. Your contributions will serve as a testament to the remarkable life he lived and the love he shared with us all.
