Clifford Allen Rose, 65, died Sunday, October 5, 2025.
Clifford was born on October 22, 1959 in Beckley, West Virginia, and later moved to the west side of Columbus, OH. He took immense pride in being a Hilltop resident.
Clifford attended West High School for the majority of his high school career, but ultimately graduated from Briggs High School in 1978. In 1981, he began working at American Electric Power, where he was quickly promoted from mailroom clerk to express driver. After 16 years with AEP, he transitioned to work for the City of Columbus Water Department where he would remain employed until his death.
A lifelong fan of sports, Clifford enjoyed watching Indiana University Hoosiers men’s basketball, the New York Knicks, and above all — the Pittsburgh Steelers. Clifford himself enjoyed playing basketball, especially at the J. Ashburn Youth Center.
Clifford was also a music connoisseur. He enjoyed a wide range of music and built an impressive collection of hundreds of vinyl records. Clifford loved serving as the informal DJ for the annual Hilltop Reunion and looked forward to seeing the community every year.
Clifford is survived by his parents Clifford and Dorothy Rose; fiancé, Tracy Gaines; his children Kayla (John) Rose-Houston and Bryson Rose; grandchild London Rose; siblings Rhonda Peaks, Debra Whitlow, and Eric Rose; niece Andrea Peaks and great-niece Shiannne Falls; members of his extended family and many, often lifelong, friends. He will be sorely missed.
Evergreen Funeral, Cremation, and Reception will host his funeral service on Saturday, October 18, 2025 beginning at 11am.
