Beth B Breckenridge

–

Columbus, Ohio

In the words of the immortal Maya Angelou, "I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it." Beth B Breckenridge, a beacon of resilience, strength, and love, embodied this sentiment. Born on November 15, 1981, in Columbus, Ohio, to William H. Breckenridge Sr. and Shelia R. Breckenridge, Beth's journey was marked by courage and determination, as she navigated life with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Regardless of her health challenges, Beth was a force of nature who refused to be defined by her illness, instead choosing to blaze her own trail in the world.

Beth's passion for learning and service was evident in her academic and professional pursuits. She graduated from Ohio Dominican College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a minor in Economics, later following her heart to earn an Associate degree in Mortuary Science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Despite requiring dialysis treatments, Beth made the daily commute to Cincinnati for her studies, a testament to her unwavering determination and tenacity. She worked as a Notary Public, served at the Board of Elections, and was an integral part of the Ohio State Fairgrounds. Beyond her career, Beth's love for art, music, dance, and travel illuminated her life. In her youth she was a ballet and jazz dancer at Pinnell Dance Studio in Gahanna, Ohio, and was an active member of multiple organizations, including the Rotary Club of Westerville, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the National Association of Professional Women.

Family was the cornerstone of Beth's life, and being an aunt was her greatest joy. She cherished each moment with her nieces and nephews, whom she lovingly referred to as "her kids." Her devotion to her family, especially to her last set of babies, Muna and Cameron Jessie, was the epitome of selfless love. Beth transitioned on May 8, 2026, after a brave 28-year battle with Lupus, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, determination, and boundless love. Preceded in death by her father, William H. Breckenridge Sr., and her sister, Shira L. Breckenridge, Beth is survived by her mother, Shelia Breckenridge; her brothers, Joshua and Jason Breckenridge; sister, Mildred (Derek) Baumann; and brother, William “Joel” (Aarika) Breckenridge II. She also leaves behind her special uncle, Robert A. Jones; the Barkstall family; the Michael Miller family; special friend Ebony (Jordan) Reid and family; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues.
